It will be a first Badminton for French rider Camille Lejeune (28) who is based in Nogent le Rotrou in the national park between Paris and Le Mans. Last year with R’du Temps, Camille made his four-star debut at Pau, completing in 19th place.
Camille started riding aged two at the equestrian club owned by his parents in Limoges – his father was involved with Anglo Arab racing. A former junior and Young rider international – he competed for France in the 2005 Junior European Championships and the 2007 & ’08 Young Rider Europeans and was fifth in 2007 with the Anglo Arab Ventozien, a horse saved from slaughter who gave him his first three-star ride. He left the yard at home to train with French team rider Karim Laghouag and gained his instructors diploma.
He is married to Sophie Meauxsoone also a rider and instructor. Camille enjoys skiing and football
R’du Temps Bliniere is an 11-year-old Selle Francais mare. She has an impressive jumping pedigree being by the international showjumper Airborne Montecillo (a son of the world renowned Olympic jumper Abdullah) who with French rider Roger Yves Bost won team silver at the 1998 WEG. R’du Temps Bliniere is out of a mare by Ukase an influential national stud SF stallion.
